Taking a look at the work of others is a great way to become inspired yourself.

The websites on this list are handpicked and are some of the most well laid out and designed portfolios on the web. There is a lot of competition and it is a shame that more cannot be featured on this list, but these alone are bound to inspire you as well as give you ideas that you can outright steal. There is no order to the list as each portfolio has its own charms.

The website seems like a washout, but scroll down and you will be very impressed with his work and the way he uses real photo images and bright colors. It is very fine work.

The designs are very good and very well laid out and compliments should go to the color scheme too. The fun part is the small moving bits that trigger when your mouse cursor scrolls over them.
The music and video is very annoying, and if it were not for the fact this guy is very good at what he does then this website would not be on this list. Have a look at how his unique style comes across and how his creation is beautiful with a modern feel. Just make sure you turn down your speakers before you visit.

Unlike most, this is a Flash based project. The projects are a form of art that features other forms of art (mostly architecture). It is a very professional and inspiring portfolio.

It has an annoying soundtrack that triggers right away, but you cannot fault the incredible design and the parts that move in accordance to where your mouse cursor is moving to over the screen.

Ghost Horses

It is difficult to get a lot of moving parts onto a website and still have it look tasteful, but the creator has done a great job. Things also move if your mouse cursor goes over them, but on the down side it does lengthen the render time of the website.

Using bold colors is risky and the creator of this portfolio does it very well. The use of bold red and white is very daring outside of china, but this portfolio pulls it off very well.

If lots of websites did this sort of thing then it would be tacky, but this one looks pretty cool. If you are not sure why then click in the middle of the screen to see the moving display–it is very good looking, and the render time is surprisingly fast considering the animation effects.

This website will show you very vibrant and powerful designs that are bold but simple. The way they are laid out is very pleasing to the eye.

Sid Lee

It has been described as a clean looking portfolio with interesting touches, but it is very vibrant at the same time and seems to use very little to very great effect–it is well worth a look.

It is good because the background image is moving, but if you scroll your mouse over the screen you get to see how the rest of the page comes together. It is a well made (albeit busy) portfolio.

There is something almost magical about this portfolio. The colors are rich without being imposing and the drawn methodology is very good without coming across as cartoony.

You get to see a much muted design set with a lot of style and a lot of design expertise.

Authentic Style

There are lots of browns and oranges at work and it really shows you how you may create a warm experience within a website.

Tanq

It is very well designed and the bright red rollovers that sit on the home page portfolio images are very nice. The designs allow you to create a simple interface whilst sneakily hiding a lot of information that is only visible through rollovers.
